London wide “Treasure Hunt” announced

On Sunday 20th March, a treasure hunt will pit Londoners against each other for the chance to win tickets to a secret party hosted by the Mayor of London.

Sing London, the company responsible for bringing ping pong tables, public pianos, and Talking Statues to London streets today announced “Search Party,” a city-wide treasure hunt which will involve numerous events which aim “to lift the public’s spirit by connecting them to the city we share.”

The treasure hunt  is the flagship event of the Mayor of London’s “Find your London Festival,” which will take place over 11 days and involve 100 events across London.

Find Your London, is the Mayor of London’s final jamboree taking place between the 18-28 March and aims to get Londoners out and about exploring more of their city.

So as to appeal to the broadest number of Londoners, events have been divided into five different “moods”: Active, Curious, Playful, Relaxed, or Inspired. Among the listed events there are photography classes, yoga in the park, beekeeping, and even an Alice in Wonderland themed Tea party.

There will be four trails of clues on the Treasure hunt, and participants will have to “collaborate, take risks and interact with strangers as they make their way through 2 miles of London’s open spaces.”

Mayor of London, Boris Johnson MP, said: “My new festival celebrates our city’s great outdoor space from our much-loved woods and parks, to our bustling high streets and town centres. There is a smorgasbord of festival events from searching for clues to locate the secret party, to launches of new markets to historical tours of our river sides.”

Clues have been commissioned by artists, actors, gardeners, bakers and magicians. 50 volunteers will line the route, helping perplexed searchers get back on track – or to trick them off course…

While the treasure hunt will be free, some events will be ticketed and have limited availability. Search Party will take place on Sunday 20th March between 12pm-4pm. More information can be found on the Find Your London Festival website, and details of the Secret Party will be announced shortly.
